Nordys Tablets contain Rifaximin 200 mg, 400 mg, or 550 mg. Rifaximin is a non-systemic, broad-spectrum rifamycin antibacterial agent that acts locally within the gastrointestinal tract to treat bacterial gastrointestinal disorders with minimal systemic absorption.

For hepatic encephalopathy, the recommended dose is 400 mg every 8 hours. For irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D), 550 mg is administered three times daily for 14 days, with treatment repeatable up to two additional courses in patients experiencing symptom recurrence, as directed by the physician.

Nordys Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Rifaximin, rifamycin-class antimicrobial agents, or any component of the formulation.
