Each tablet contains Norethisterone 5 mg.

Norgest Tablets contain Norethisterone, a synthetic progestogen used for the management of various menstrual disorders associated with hormonal imbalance. It helps regulate the menstrual cycle, control abnormal uterine bleeding, reduce excessive menstrual blood loss, and relieve menstrual pain. Norgest Tablets restore hormonal balance and improve menstrual regularity under medical supervision.

Norgest Tablets are indicated for the treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding, polymenorrhoea, menorrhagia, and dysmenorrhoea.

Norethisterone is a synthetic progestogen that exerts its therapeutic effects by acting on the pituitary gland to suppress ovulation when administered at intermediate doses (5–10 mg). It reduces the endogenous production of estrogen and progesterone, converting the proliferative endometrium into a secretory and decidualized endometrium, thereby stabilizing the uterine lining and controlling abnormal uterine bleeding. These hormonal actions help regulate menstrual cycles and reduce excessive menstrual bleeding.

For the treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding, the recommended dose is one tablet three times daily for 10 days. Bleeding generally stops within 48 hours, followed by withdrawal bleeding a few days after treatment completion. To prevent recurrence, one tablet twice daily from Day 19 to Day 26 of the following two menstrual cycles is recommended, or as directed by the physician.

Norgest Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Norethisterone or any component of the formulation.
