Each uncoated tablet contains Nimesulide BP 100 mg + Paracetamol IP 325 mg.

Novolid Plus is a fixed-dose combination of Nimesulide, a preferential COX-2 inhibitor with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, and Paracetamol, a centrally acting analgesic and antipyretic. The combination provides effective relief from pain, inflammation, and fever associated with musculoskeletal disorders and post-traumatic conditions while offering enhanced analgesic efficacy through complementary mechanisms of action.

Novolid Plus is indicated for the management of inflammatory conditions, including joint disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, as well as post-traumatic pain, post-operative pain, and fever. It is intended for short-term symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation in adults.

Nimesulide exerts its anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects primarily by selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for inflammation and pain. Paracetamol is a centrally acting analgesic and antipyretic that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis predominantly within the central nervous system, providing effective pain relief and fever reduction with minimal peripheral anti-inflammatory activity.

The recommended dosage is one tablet twice daily after meals, or as directed by the treating physician.

Novolid Plus is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Nimesulide, Paracetamol, or any component of the formulation, active peptic ulcer disease, severe hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment, a history of hepatotoxic reactions to Nimesulide, and during the third trimester of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
