Each ml contains Ofloxacin 0.3% w/v Ophthalmic Solution.

Oflacin Eye Drops contain Ofloxacin 0.3%, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for the treatment of external bacterial infections of the eye and its adnexa. It provides rapid bactericidal activity against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, helping eliminate infection, relieve symptoms, and promote ocular healing.

Oflacin Eye Drops are indicated for the topical treatment of external infections of the eye and its adnexa caused by susceptible bacteria in adults and children above 1 year of age. It is also indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis and bacterial corneal ulcers caused by susceptible organisms.

Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic that exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II), an essential bacterial enzyme involved in DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. Inhibition of DNA gyrase disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis, resulting in rapid elimination of susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic bacteria responsible for ocular infections.

For bacterial conjunctivitis, instill one to two drops into the affected eye(s) every two to four hours during Days 1 and 2, followed by one to two drops four times daily from Days 3 through 7, or as directed by the physician. For bacterial corneal ulcer, instill one to two drops every 30 minutes while awake during Days 1 and 2, including additional doses approximately four and six hours after retiring. From Days 3 through 7 to 9, instill one to two drops every hour while awake. Thereafter, continue with one to two drops four times daily until completion of treatment, or as directed by the physician.

Oflacin Eye Drops are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ofloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics, or any component of the formulation.
