Each ml contains Tropicamide IP 0.8% w/v, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride IP 5.0% w/v, and Chlorbutol IP 0.5% w/v (as preservative).

Optimide Plus Eye Drops combine Tropicamide and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride to provide rapid and effective mydriasis with cycloplegic activity for ophthalmic diagnostic procedures. The combination facilitates comprehensive examination of the posterior segment of the eye by producing adequate pupil dilation and temporary paralysis of accommodation.

Optimide Plus Eye Drops are indicated for mydriasis and cycloplegia during ophthalmic diagnostic procedures.

Optimide Plus Eye Drops contain two complementary agents that facilitate pupil dilation. Tropicamide is an anticholinergic (muscarinic receptor antagonist) that produces mydriasis along with cycloplegia by blocking the response of the iris sphincter and ciliary muscles to cholinergic stimulation. Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist that dilates the pupil by stimulating the iris dilator muscle without producing significant cycloplegia. Together, they provide rapid and effective pupil dilation for diagnostic ophthalmic examinations.

Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) as required, or as directed by the physician.

Optimide Plus Eye Drops are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tropicamide, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, or any component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in paediatric patients below 1 year of age due to the increased risk of systemic toxicity and should not be used in patients with hypertension or thyrotoxicosis.
