Ornilox Tablets contain Ornidazole 500 mg and Ofloxacin 200 mg. This combination provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial coverage against susceptible aerobic bacteria, anaerobic bacteria, and protozoal pathogens commonly associated with mixed gastrointestinal infections.

Ornilox Tablets combine the antibacterial activity of ofloxacin with the antiprotozoal and anti-anaerobic activity of ornidazole, providing comprehensive coverage for mixed infectious diarrhoea. The combination is effective against common bacterial and protozoal pathogens, offers convenient twice-daily dosing, and helps achieve rapid control of gastrointestinal infections by targeting multiple causative organisms simultaneously.

Ornilox Tablets are indicated for the treatment of diarrhoea caused by mixed bacterial and protozoal infections.

Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antimicrobial that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby preventing bacterial growth. Ornidazole is a nitroimidazole antimicrobial effective against protozoa including Trichomonas vaginalis, Entamoeba histolytica, and Giardia lamblia, as well as several anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides, Clostridium species, Fusobacterium species, and anaerobic cocci. Together, the combination provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against mixed gastrointestinal infections.

The recommended dosage is one tablet twice daily, or as directed by the physician.

Ornilox Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ofloxacin, Ornidazole, other quinolones, nitroimidazole derivatives, or any component of the formulation.
