Each tablet contains: Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) 150 mg Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) 300 mg

Usibon Tablets contain Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring hydrophilic bile acid that helps improve bile flow, reduce cholesterol saturation in bile, and protect liver cells from bile acid-induced damage. It is widely used in the management of cholestatic liver disorders and for the dissolution of cholesterol gallstones. Usibon Tablets support liver function by improving bile composition and reducing cholestatic injury.

Usibon Tablets are indicated for: Dissolution of radiolucent cholesterol gallstones Chronic cholestatic liver disease, particularly Primary Biliary Cholangitis (Primary Biliary Cirrhosis) and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis Cholestasis associated with cystic fibrosis

Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) is a hydrophilic bile acid that suppresses hepatic cholesterol synthesis and secretion while reducing intestinal absorption of cholesterol. It decreases cholesterol saturation in bile, promoting the gradual dissolution of cholesterol gallstones. UDCA also protects hepatocytes and cholangiocytes from the toxic effects of hydrophobic bile acids, enhances bile flow, and improves liver function in cholestatic liver diseases through its cytoprotective and choleretic actions.

The recommended dosage is: Dissolution of cholesterol gallstones: 6–12 mg/kg/day, administered as a single bedtime dose or in divided doses. The dose may be increased to 15 mg/kg/day in obese patients if required. Primary Biliary Cholangitis (Primary Biliary Cirrhosis): 10–15 mg/kg/day, administered in 2–4 divided doses. Children: Dosage should be based on body weight. Children with cystic fibrosis (6 to <18 years): 20 mg/kg/day in 2–3 divided doses, which may be increased to 30 mg/kg/day if necessary. Use only as directed by the physician.

Usibon Tablets are contraindicated in patients with complete extrahepatic biliary obstruction, widespread intrahepatic obstruction, or known hypersensitivity to Ursodeoxycholic Acid or any component of the formulation.
