Vildapride OD Tablets contain Vildagliptin 100 mg Sustained Release (SR). The sustained-release formulation is designed for once-daily administration to provide prolonged DPP-4 inhibition and effective glycaemic control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Vildapride OD Tablets contain sustained-release Vildagliptin, a selective DPP-4 inhibitor that enhances endogenous incretin hormone activity. The once-daily formulation improves patient convenience and adherence while promoting glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppressing inappropriate glucagon release, and providing effective control of both fasting and postprandial blood glucose with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when used as monotherapy.

Vildapride OD Tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Vildagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases endogenous incretin hormone levels by preventing their degradation. Increased incretin activity enhances the sensitivity of pancreatic beta cells to glucose, resulting in improved glucose-dependent insulin secretion. Vildagliptin also enhances the glucose sensitivity of alpha cells, leading to more appropriate glucagon secretion. The improved insulin-to-glucagon ratio during hyperglycaemia reduces both fasting and postprandial hepatic glucose production, thereby improving overall glycaemic control.

The usual recommended dose is one 100 mg sustained-release tablet once daily, taken with or without food, or as directed by the treating physician.

Vildapride OD Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Vildagliptin or to any component of the formulation.
