Vilpower M Tablets contain Vildagliptin 50 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride IP 500 mg/1000 mg. This fixed-dose combination combines a DPP-4 inhibitor with a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent to improve glycaemic control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Vilpower M Tablets combine the complementary actions of Vildagliptin and Metformin to provide effective control of both fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels. Vildagliptin enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppresses glucagon release, while Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity. The combination offers improved glycaemic control with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when used appropriately and supports long-term diabetes management alongside diet and exercise.

Vilpower M Tablets are indicated for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and monotherapy do not provide adequate glycaemic control.

Vildagliptin is a selective dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases endogenous incretin hormone levels, thereby enhancing glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reducing glucagon secretion. Vilpower M Tablets are contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Vildagliptin, Metformin, or any component of the formulation. They are also contraindicated in patients with acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including lactic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis with or without coma, severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min), acute conditions that may impair renal function, diseases associated with tissue hypoxia, hepatic impairment, acute alcohol intoxication or chronic alcoholism, and during breastfeeding.
