Voglinorm GM 1/2 (0.2/0.3) Tablets contain Voglibose 0.2 mg/0.3 mg, Glimepiride 1 mg/2 mg, and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg Sustained Release (SR). This triple-drug combination combines an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, a sulfonylurea, and a biguanide to provide comprehensive glycaemic control in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Voglinorm GM 1/2 (0.2/0.3) Tablets combine three complementary antidiabetic agents that target different mechanisms involved in glucose regulation. Glimepiride stimulates insulin secretion from functioning pancreatic beta cells, Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity, while Voglibose delays intestinal carbohydrate absorption by inhibiting alpha-glucosidase enzymes. This combination effectively improves fasting as well as postprandial blood glucose control and is particularly beneficial for patients inadequately controlled on dual antidiabetic therapy.

Voglinorm GM 1/2 (0.2/0.3) Tablets are indicated for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in patients who remain inadequately controlled despite dual antidiabetic therapy, in conjunction with appropriate dietary modifications and regular physical activity.

Glimepiride lowers blood glucose primarily by stimulating insulin release from functioning pancreatic beta cells, with additional extra-pancreatic effects contributing to its antihyperglycaemic action. Metformin improves glucose tolerance by decreasing hepatic glucose production, reducing intestinal glucose absorption, and enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and insulin sensitivity. Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that delays the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates by inhibiting alpha-glucosidase enzymes in the intestinal brush border, thereby reducing postprandial blood glucose excursions. Together, these complementary mechanisms provide comprehensive glycaemic control in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

The recommended dosage is one tablet twice daily before meals, or as directed by the treating physician. The dosage should be individualized according to the patient's glycaemic response and clinical condition.

Voglinorm GM 1/2 (0.2/0.3) Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Voglibose, Glimepiride, Metformin, or any component of the formulation. They are also contraindicated in patients with acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis with or without coma, as well as in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
