Composition
Each tablet contains Ferrous Ascorbate equivalent to Elemental Iron 100 mg + Folic Acid 1.5 mg
Features / Experimentation
Haematinic formulation used for the management of iron deficiency anaemia. Supports haemoglobin synthesis, red blood cell formation and replenishment of iron and folate stores.
Indications
Indicated for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anaemia and folate deficiency conditions.
Pharmacodynamics
Ferrous ascorbate is a synthetic complex of iron and ascorbic acid that enhances iron absorption and supports haemoglobin production. Folic acid is essential for nucleoprotein synthesis, cell division, amino acid metabolism and maintenance of normal erythropoiesis.
Dosage and administration
One tablet orally daily or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to ferrous ascorbate, folic acid or any component of the formulation, porphyria cutanea tarda, haemochromatosis, haemosiderosis and haemolytic anaemia.
