Zucapride-M Tablets contain Dapagliflozin 10 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride Sustained Release (SR) 500 mg/1000 mg. This fixed-dose combination combines a selective SGLT2 inhibitor with a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent to improve glycaemic control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Zucapride-M Tablets combine the complementary mechanisms of Dapagliflozin and Metformin to provide effective glycaemic control. Dapagliflozin lowers blood glucose by promoting urinary glucose excretion through inhibition of SGLT2, while Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity. This dual-action therapy effectively controls both fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels, offers insulin-independent glucose lowering, and supports convenient once-daily dosing.

Zucapride-M Tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus when treatment with both Dapagliflozin and Metformin is appropriate.

Dapagliflozin is a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that reduces renal glucose reabsorption, lowers the renal threshold for glucose, and increases urinary glucose excretion, thereby improving glycaemic control. Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent that decreases hepatic glucose production, reduces intestinal glucose absorption, and enhances peripheral insulin sensitivity by increasing glucose uptake and utilization. Together, these complementary mechanisms provide effective overall glycaemic control in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily with food in the morning, or as directed by the treating physician. The dosage should be individualized according to the patient's clinical response and tolerability.

Zucapride-M Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Dapagliflozin, Metformin, or any component of the formulation. They are also contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR below 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), end-stage renal disease (ESRD), patients on dialysis, and those with metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis.
