Amlong H Tablets contain Amlodipine 5 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg.

Amlong H Tablets combine the antihypertensive action of Amlodipine, a long-acting calcium channel blocker, with Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, to provide effective blood pressure control. The combination reduces peripheral vascular resistance while promoting sodium and water excretion, thereby lowering blood pressure and improving cardiovascular outcomes in patients with hypertension.

Amlong H Tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension.

Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, resulting in peripheral arterial vasodilation, reduced peripheral vascular resistance, and lowering of blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that acts on the renal tubules to inhibit sodium and chloride reabsorption, increasing urinary excretion of sodium, chloride, and water. This natriuretic effect may also be accompanied by increased potassium and bicarbonate loss, contributing to its antihypertensive action.

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily, or as directed by the physician.

Amlong H Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Amlodipine, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any component of the formulation, anuria, and severe hepatic impairment. The combination should also be avoided in patients with severe renal impairment where loop diuretics are preferred over thiazide diuretics.
