Amlong MT Tablets contain Amlodipine 2.5 mg/5 mg and Metoprolol Succinate Extended Release 25 mg/50 mg.

Amlong MT Tablets combine the vasodilatory action of Amlodipine with the cardioselective beta-blocking effect of Metoprolol Succinate Extended Release to provide effective control of blood pressure and angina. The combination reduces peripheral vascular resistance, lowers heart rate and cardiac workload, and offers sustained antihypertensive and antianginal benefits with convenient once-daily dosing.

Amlong MT Tablets are indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and angina pectoris in adults.

Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into cardiac and vascular smooth muscle, producing peripheral vasodilation, reducing vascular resistance, and lowering blood pressure. Metoprolol Succinate is a selective β1-adrenergic receptor blocker that competitively inhibits catecholamine binding in the heart, resulting in reduced heart rate, decreased myocardial contractility, reduced cardiac output, and lower blood pressure, thereby decreasing myocardial oxygen demand.

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily, or as directed by the physician.

Amlong MT Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Amlodipine, Metoprolol, or any component of the formulation. Metoprolol is also contraindicated in patients with sinus bradycardia, second- or third-degree heart block, cardiogenic shock, and overt cardiac failure.
