Composition
Each 5 ml contains ferrous ascorbate equivalent to elemental Iron 30 mg + Folic acid 500 mcg.
Features / Experimentation
Iron and folic acid supplementation used for correction of iron deficiency anemia and support of normal erythropoiesis.
Indications
Indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia.
Pharmacodynamics
Iron is an essential component in hemoglobin formation and acts as a cofactor for several enzymes. Folic acid supports nucleoprotein synthesis, amino acid metabolism, normal growth, cell reproduction and erythropoiesis.
Dosage and administration
One teaspoon twice daily in adults.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to active ingredients, hemosiderosis, haemochromatosis, haemoglobinopathies, inflammatory bowel disease and active peptic ulcer.
