Each film-coated tablet contains Apixaban 2.5 mg or Apixaban 5 mg.

Apivas Tablets contain Apixaban, a highly selective, direct Factor Xa (FXa) inhibitor that provides effective oral anticoagulation without requiring antithrombin III for its activity. By selectively inhibiting free and clot-bound Factor Xa as well as prothrombinase activity, Apixaban reduces thrombin generation and thrombus formation. The predictable pharmacokinetic profile of Apixaban eliminates the need for routine coagulation monitoring in most patients and offers an effective option for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disorders.

Apivas Tablets are indicated for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF), prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) following elective hip or knee replacement surgery, treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and reduction in the risk of recurrent DVT and PE following initial therapy.

Apixaban is a potent, selective, and reversible direct inhibitor of Factor Xa. It exerts its anticoagulant effect without requiring antithrombin III by inhibiting both free and clot-bound Factor Xa as well as prothrombinase activity. This inhibition reduces thrombin generation and thrombus formation without directly affecting platelet aggregation. By suppressing thrombin-mediated platelet activation, Apixaban indirectly inhibits platelet aggregation and effectively reduces the risk of thromboembolic events.

For the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, the recommended dose is 5 mg orally twice daily. In patients with at least two of the following characteristics—age 80 years or older, body weight 60 kg or less, or serum creatinine 1.5 mg/dL or greater—the recommended dose is 2.5 mg twice daily. For prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis following hip or knee replacement surgery, the recommended dose is 2.5 mg twice daily. For the treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, the recommended dose is 10 mg twice daily for the first seven days, followed by 5 mg twice daily. For reducing the risk of recurrent DVT and PE after initial therapy, the recommended dose is 2.5 mg twice daily or as directed by the treating physician.

Apivas Tablets are contraindicated in patients with active pathological bleeding, known hypersensitivity to Apixaban or any component of the formulation, including severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, and in patients receiving concomitant treatment with other anticoagulant agents unless specifically indicated during therapeutic transition.
