Arbitel AV Tablets contain Telmisartan 40 mg and Atorvastatin 10 mg.

Arbitel AV Tablets combine the antihypertensive effects of Telmisartan with the lipid-lowering benefits of Atorvastatin in a single formulation. Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), provides effective blood pressure control by blocking the vasoconstrictor effects of angiotensin II, while Atorvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol. This combination is particularly beneficial for patients with coexisting hypertension and dyslipidaemia, helping reduce overall cardiovascular risk with convenient once-daily dosing.

Arbitel AV Tablets are indicated for the management of coexisting essential hypertension and hyperlipidaemia.

Telmisartan selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, resulting in vasodilation and effective blood pressure reduction. Atorvastatin is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme responsible for converting 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor of cholesterol. This inhibition reduces hepatic cholesterol synthesis, increases LDL receptor expression, and lowers circulating LDL cholesterol levels.

The recommended dosage is one tablet orally once daily, with or without food, or as directed by the physician.

Arbitel AV Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, Atorvastatin, or any component of the formulation.
