Arbitel CT Tablets contain Telmisartan 40 mg/80 mg and Chlorthalidone 12.5 mg.

Arbitel CT Tablets combine the antihypertensive efficacy of Telmisartan with the long-acting diuretic action of Chlorthalidone to provide effective and sustained blood pressure control. Telmisartan selectively blocks the angiotensin II AT1 receptor, reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, while Chlorthalidone promotes sodium and water excretion through its thiazide-like diuretic action. This combination offers complementary mechanisms for lowering blood pressure and is suitable for patients requiring combination therapy for essential hypertension.

Arbitel CT Tablets are indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension.

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in vascular smooth muscle and other tissues, thereby preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release, resulting in reduced blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic that acts primarily on the distal renal tubule by inhibiting sodium and chloride reabsorption while promoting calcium reabsorption. This increases urinary excretion of sodium, chloride, and water, leading to a reduction in plasma volume and blood pressure.

The usual initial dosage is one Arbitel CT 40 tablet orally once daily in the morning. If additional blood pressure control is required, the dose may be increased to two Arbitel CT 40 tablets once daily or one Arbitel CT 80 tablet once daily, or as directed by the physician.

Arbitel CT Tablets are contraindicated in patients with anuria, severe hepatic or renal failure, known hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, Chlorthalidone, sulfonamide-derived drugs, or any component of the formulation.
