Arbitel Tablets contain Telmisartan 20 mg, 40 mg, or 80 mg.

Arbitel Tablets contain Telmisartan, a selective angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that provides effective 24-hour blood pressure control through once-daily dosing. By selectively blocking the AT1 receptor, Telmisartan reduces vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion without affecting ACE activity, thereby lowering blood pressure while minimizing the incidence of cough associated with ACE inhibitors. In addition to treating hypertension, Arbitel Tablets help reduce the risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in high-risk patients aged 55 years and above.

Arbitel Tablets are indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension and for the prevention of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in patients aged 55 years or older who are at high risk of cardiovascular disease.

Telmisartan selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland, thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion. This results in relaxation of blood vessels, reduced peripheral vascular resistance, and lowering of blood pressure. Telmisartan has a much greater affinity for the AT1 receptor than for the AT2 receptor, providing targeted blockade of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system while maintaining prolonged antihypertensive activity.

For the treatment of hypertension, the usual starting dose is 40 mg orally once daily, with dose adjustments ranging from 20 mg to 80 mg once daily depending on the patient's blood pressure response. For the reduction of cardiovascular risk, the recommended dose is 80 mg once daily, administered with or without food, or as directed by the physician.

Arbitel Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity, including anaphylaxis or angioedema, to Telmisartan or any component of the formulation.
