Composition
Each capsule contains: Atorvastatin 10 mg / 20 mg Clopidogrel 75 mg
Features / Experimentation
Avas CV Capsules combine Atorvastatin, a potent statin, with Clopidogrel, an antiplatelet agent, to provide comprehensive cardiovascular protection in patients with atherosclerotic disease. The combination lowers LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels while inhibiting platelet aggregation, helping reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, and peripheral vascular complications. Avas CV Capsules are intended for use as part of a comprehensive cardiovascular risk reduction strategy that includes lifestyle modification.
Indications
Avas CV Capsules are indicated for the treatment of dyslipidemia associated with atherosclerotic arterial disease in patients at risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, or peripheral vascular disease.
Pharmacodynamics
Atorvastatin is a selective and competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme responsible for cholesterol biosynthesis. By reducing hepatic cholesterol synthesis, it increases LDL receptor expression and enhances the clearance of circulating LDL cholesterol, resulting in significant reductions in total cholesterol and triglycerides. Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent that is metabolized by cytochrome P450 (CYP450) enzymes to its active metabolite. The active metabolite selectively and irreversibly inhibits the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to the platelet P2Y12 receptor, thereby preventing activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex and inhibiting platelet aggregation for the lifespan of the platelet.
Dosage and administration
The recommended dose is one capsule once daily, or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Avas CV Capsules are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Atorvastatin, Clopidogrel, or any component of the formulation. They are also contraindicated in patients with active pathological bleeding, including peptic ulcer bleeding or intracranial hemorrhage, active liver disease, including unexplained persistent elevations of hepatic transaminases, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
