Carvipress Tablets contain Carvedilol, a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocker with additional alpha1-blocking activity, providing dual action for effective cardiovascular management. By reducing heart rate, myocardial workload, peripheral vascular resistance, and inhibiting sympathetic stimulation, Carvedilol improves cardiac function, lowers blood pressure, and reduces cardiovascular mortality in patients with heart failure and post-myocardial infarction left ventricular dysfunction. The dual mechanism offers comprehensive hemodynamic benefits while supporting long-term cardiovascular protection.

Carvipress Tablets are indicated for the treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF), essential hypertension, and to reduce cardiovascular mortality in clinically stable patients who have survived the acute phase of myocardial infarction with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤40%, with or without symptomatic heart failure.

Carvedilol is a racemic mixture in which the S(-) enantiomer provides non-selective beta1- and beta2-adrenergic receptor blockade, while both R(+) and S(-) enantiomers produce alpha1-adrenergic receptor blockade with equal potency. This combination reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure and improving cardiac performance. Carvedilol has no intrinsic sympathomimetic activity, making it effective in reducing sympathetic overactivity associated with hypertension and heart failure.

The dosage should be individualized according to the clinical condition: Congestive Heart Failure: Start with 3.125 mg twice daily, increasing gradually to 6.25 mg, 12.5 mg, and 25 mg twice daily at intervals of at least 2 weeks, based on patient tolerance. Left Ventricular Dysfunction after Myocardial Infarction: Start with 6.25 mg twice daily, then increase to 12.5 mg and subsequently 25 mg twice daily at intervals of 3–10 days. Essential Hypertension: Begin with 6.25 mg twice daily, increasing to 12.5 mg and then 25 mg twice daily at intervals of 1–2 weeks, if required.

Carvipress Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Carvedilol or any formulation component, bronchial asthma or related bronchospastic disorders, second- or third-degree atrioventricular block, sick sinus syndrome, severe bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure requiring intravenous inotropic therapy, and severe hepatic impairment.
