Each tablet contains Olmesartan 20 mg or 40 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg.

Olmat AM Tablets combine Olmesartan, a selective angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), with Amlodipine, a long-acting calcium channel blocker, to provide effective once-daily control of hypertension. Olmesartan inhibits the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system by blocking AT1 receptors, while Amlodipine relaxes vascular smooth muscle through calcium channel inhibition, resulting in complementary blood pressure reduction. This dual-mechanism therapy offers sustained antihypertensive efficacy and helps reduce cardiovascular risk in patients requiring combination treatment.

Olmat AM Tablets are indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension. The Olmesartan 20 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg strength is indicated for mild to moderate hypertension, while the Olmesartan 40 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg strength is indicated for the treatment of hypertension either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents and may be used as initial therapy in patients who are likely to require multiple medications to achieve target blood pressure.

Olmesartan is a selective angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist that blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, thereby reducing peripheral vascular resistance and lowering blood pressure. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. Its antihypertensive effect results primarily from direct relaxation of vascular smooth muscle, producing vasodilation and sustained reduction in peripheral vascular resistance. The complementary actions of these agents provide effective and long-lasting blood pressure control.

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily, or as directed by the treating physician.

Olmat AM Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Olmesartan, Amlodipine, or any component of the formulation.
