Each tablet contains Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg or 40 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg.

Olmat H Tablets combine Olmesartan Medoxomil, a selective angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), with Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, to provide effective once-daily treatment of essential hypertension. Olmesartan lowers blood pressure by blocking the vasoconstrictor effects of angiotensin II, while Hydrochlorothiazide enhances antihypertensive efficacy by increasing sodium and water excretion. This dual-action combination offers sustained blood pressure control and contributes to long-term cardiovascular risk reduction.

Olmat H Tablets are indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension.

Olmesartan Medoxomil is a selective angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist that blocks the vasoconstrictor effects of angiotensin II by preventing its binding to AT1 receptors on vascular smooth muscle. Its antihypertensive effect is independent of the pathway through which angiotensin II is synthesized, resulting in reduced peripheral vascular resistance and lower blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that inhibits the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions in the distal renal tubules, increasing urinary excretion of sodium and water, reducing plasma volume, and enhancing blood pressure reduction. Together, these complementary mechanisms provide sustained antihypertensive efficacy.

The usual recommended starting dose is Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily in the morning in patients who are not volume depleted. For patients requiring additional blood pressure reduction, the dosage may be increased after 2 weeks to Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily, or as directed by the treating physician.

Olmat H Tablets are contraindicated in patients with anuria and in those with known hypersensitivity to Olmesartan Medoxomil, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any component of the formulation.
