Each tablet contains Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg or 40 mg.

Olmat Tablets contain Olmesartan Medoxomil, a selective angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), indicated for the management of hypertension. By selectively blocking AT1 receptors, Olmesartan inhibits the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, resulting in effective blood pressure reduction. The once-daily formulation provides sustained 24-hour blood pressure control and supports long-term cardiovascular and renal protection in hypertensive patients.

Olmat Tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension in adults and in eligible pediatric patients as recommended by prescribing guidelines.

Olmesartan Medoxomil is a selective angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist. Angiotensin II is the primary vasoactive hormone of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and is responsible for vasoconstriction, aldosterone secretion, cardiac stimulation, and renal sodium reabsorption. Olmesartan selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors located in vascular smooth muscle, thereby reducing peripheral vascular resistance and lowering blood pressure without affecting other pathways involved in angiotensin II synthesis.

The recommended starting dose in adults is 20 mg once daily. If additional blood pressure reduction is required after 2 weeks, the dose may be increased to 40 mg once daily. For pediatric patients 6 to 16 years of age who are able to swallow tablets, the recommended starting dose is 10 mg once daily for those weighing 20 to <35 kg, and 20 mg once daily for those weighing ≥35 kg. If further blood pressure reduction is required after two weeks, the dosage may be increased to a maximum of 20 mg once daily for patients weighing <35 kg and 40 mg once daily for patients weighing ≥35 kg, as directed by the treating physician.

Olmat Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Olmesartan Medoxomil or any component of the formulation.
