Composition
Each capsule contains: Rosuvastatin 10 mg Clopidogrel 75 mg
Features / Experimentation
Turbovas CV Capsules combine Rosuvastatin, a potent lipid-lowering statin, with Clopidogrel, an antiplatelet agent, to provide dual cardiovascular protection. Rosuvastatin effectively lowers LDL cholesterol and helps stabilize atherosclerotic plaques, while Clopidogrel inhibits platelet aggregation to reduce thrombus formation. This combination therapy is designed for patients requiring secondary prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events following acute coronary syndrome or ischemic stroke.
Indications
Turbovas CV Capsules are indicated for the secondary prevention of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and ischemic stroke.
Pharmacodynamics
Rosuvastatin is a selective and competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis. By reducing hepatic cholesterol synthesis, it increases LDL receptor expression and enhances the clearance of circulating low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, thereby lowering LDL cholesterol and reducing cardiovascular risk. Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent that is metabolized to an active metabolite which irreversibly binds to the platelet P2Y12 adenosine diphosphate (ADP) receptor. This inhibits ADP-mediated platelet activation and prevents activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex, thereby reducing platelet aggregation and the formation of arterial thrombi.
Dosage and administration
The recommended dose is one capsule once daily, taken orally after food, at any convenient time of the day, or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Turbovas CV Capsules are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Rosuvastatin, Clopidogrel, or any component of the formulation. They are also contraindicated in patients with active pathological bleeding, including peptic ulcer disease or intracranial hemorrhage, active liver disease, pregnancy, lactation, and in patients with aspirin-sensitive asthma or nasal polyps where clinically relevant hypersensitivity exists.
