Turbovas Tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet for the treatment of hypertriglyceridemia in adults and to slow the progression of atherosclerosis by lowering total cholesterol (Total-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) to target levels as part of comprehensive lipid-lowering therapy.

Rosuvastatin is a selective and competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis. By inhibiting the conversion of HMG-CoA to mevalonate, Rosuvastatin decreases hepatic cholesterol production, resulting in increased expression of LDL receptors on hepatocytes. This enhances the clearance of circulating LDL cholesterol and reduces very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) synthesis, leading to significant reductions in LDL-C, total cholesterol, and triglycerides, while modestly increasing HDL-C.

The recommended dosage ranges from 5 mg to 40 mg once daily.
