Amlong TL 40 Tablets contain Amlodipine 5 mg and Telmisartan 40 mg.

Amlong TL 40 Tablets combine the antihypertensive benefits of Amlodipine, a long-acting calcium channel blocker, and Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), to provide effective 24-hour blood pressure control. The combination reduces peripheral vascular resistance, inhibits the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, and helps lower cardiovascular risk in patients with essential hypertension through complementary mechanisms of action.

Amlong TL 40 Tablets are indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults.

Telmisartan selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby inhibiting the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II. This results in vasodilation, reduced sodium and water retention, and lowering of blood pressure. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle, producing peripheral arterial vasodilation, reducing peripheral vascular resistance, and effectively lowering blood pressure.

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily, or as directed by the physician.

Amlong TL 40 Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Amlodipine, Telmisartan, or any component of the formulation.
